How can we complain about a decision made by the NRK Licence Department?

If you disagree with our decision, you can appeal to the Norwegian Media Authority. The deadline for appeals is 3 weeks.

A complaint to the Norwegian Media Authority shall be sent to the NRK Licence Department and must include the following:

  1. It must be clearly stated that you want the complaint to be handled by the Norwegian Media Authority.
  2. The complaint must refer to the decision you disagree with, and what you believe is more correct. It is important that you give the reasons for your points of view, and include all of the information that you believe may have an impact on the case.
  3. The complaint should be signed by the person submitting the complaint.

When we receive a complaint, we initially carry out a new evaluation of the case. If we change our previous decision the case will be closed and the complainant will receive a new decision. If we uphold our previous decision, the case will be sent over to the Norwegian Media Authority for a final decision. You cannot appeal the Media Authority’s decision.

When we send over the case to the Norwegian Media Authority, we also send a copy to the complainant.
